Welcome
to Southern Go Kart Club
Started in 1960, the Southern Go Kart Club has grown from a simple dirt circuit then to now being 982 metres of bitumen with a circuit capacity of 36 karts. There are both short and long circuit configurations and can be run in an anti-clockwise and clockwise direction. A maximum lateral G-Force of 3.2G is pulled and speeds in excess of 110km/h are reached.
At the most basic level we offer kart racing in the following age categories:
• Cadets – 6-12 years old (restrictions apply for six year olds)
• Juniors – 12-15 years old
• Seniors – 15+ years old
Kart racing is where motor racing drivers all start!
Our philosophy is to provide the absolute best racing experience possible. Our club is dedicated to introducing as many people as possible to motor sports. People of all ages can enjoy the sport with children as young as six getting behind the wheel. And don't forget......GIRLS RACE TOO!
Our Pit Area is big enough to cater for over 300 entrants, including a trailer, and there’s enough room for trade spaces (by prior arrangement) at major race meetings. The In-Grid and Out-Grid are both under cover and there is grandstand seating in the pit area and along the main straight. We have a great indoor air conditioned viewing area along the main straight as well as a canteen and bar.
We host several race meetings every year including 3-4 race meetings which form part of our Club Championship. and host on a regular basis the South Australian State Championship, 4SS State Trophy and a round of the Australian Karting Championship.
We are the permanent host of several marquee events including “The City of Adelaide Titles”, "Adelaide 4SS Enduro" and "Australia Day Classic".
